Two drawing books of original and copied drawings entitled Drawing Book, For Copies, one created by Carrie Cooley, the other by Mattie Cooley, manufactured by John Marsh, Manufacturing Stationer and Importer, Boston, ca. 1855. Each book is 12 unnumbered leaves in length and contains pencil drawings copied from other sources. Both books have illustrated front covers; a delicate and elaborate floral frame surrounds the title and a vignette of a steam engine train. The back covers are manufacturer's advertisements. The drawing book in Env. 42 is bound in green paper, and "Carrie Cooley" is written in ms., in pencil, on the front cover. The drawing book in Env. 43 is bound in beige paper, and "Mattie [?] Cooley" is written in ms., in pencil, on the front cover, as well as in ink in the upper right-hand corner. Tissue paper guard sheets are bound in between each of the leaves in both books.

One drawing book of original drawings entitled Drawing Book, created by F.M., ca. 1850. It is bound in an illustrated orange paper binding; the title is within a twig and leaf decorative border that contains 4 small vignettes within each of the four corners. The title is centered. The back cover is similarly illustrated, with an eagle in the center of the frame. The book is 12 unnumbered leaves in length, and contains original and (presumably) copied pencil drawings, one of which is signed "F.M." The drawings include images of animals, people, fruit and flowers, and buildings. Tissue paper guard sheets are bound in between each of the leaves.

One drawing book of original drawings entitled Drawing Book, drawn by Marie [?] Lloyd, ca. 1875. The book is 12 unnumbered leaves in length, and contains original pencil drawings. The covers are illustrated with engravings; the front cover is a still life image of artists' and scholars' materials, with a banner bearing the title. This image is within a decorative frame. The back cover is an image of an American bald eagle, with a banner reading "E Pluribus Unum" in its claws. This image is also within a decorative frame. The pencil drawings within the book are primarily of houses and buildings, the accompanying note from DK describes them as "clumsy." None of the images are signed, but "Marie [?] Lloyd" is written in ms., in pencil, on the front cover. Tissue paper guard sheets are bound in between each of the leaves.

One drawing book of original drawings entitled Drawing Book, created by Anna Warner in 1870. The book was manufactured by Nison, Phinney, Blakeman & Co., New York. The book is 10 leaves in length, and contains original pencil drawings, some of which are labeled. The book is bound in a yellow paper cover, and the front cover is illustrated with a lithograph scene of two men, one of whom is drawing and the other is painting. This scene is framed by large drapes held open by cherubs. Most of the pencil drawings are of building structures and houses; DK's accompanying note describes them as "formula drawings, with personal labels; 'our house'; 'our school house'." "Anna E. Warner, Batania [?] Drawing Book, N. York, Sep. 1, 1870." is written in ms. on the inside front cover and at the top of the front cover.

One drawing book of original drawings entitled Drawing Book, created by Henry H. Holt in 1896. The drawing book is bound in a brown cardstock cover, and is manufactured by the H. Senior Co., New York. The front cover is illustrated, and the back cover is blank. The drawing book is 12 leaves in length, with pencil and crayon drawings on both sides of each of the leaves. Some of the drawings have been numbered. The drawings include images of animals, objects, people, and maps. Most of the images are numbered with a number that corresponds to the source from which it was copied (according to an accompanying note from DK), and the drawings have been numerically graded by the creator's teacher. Tissue paper guard sheets are bound in between the leaves. "Henry H. Holt, Woodbury, Vermont, Fall term 1896. Amy Denny, teacher" is written in ms., in ink, on the inside of the front cover. A ms. letter to Diana Korzenik, with its envelop and a photocopy is laid in.

One drawing book of original and copied drawings entitled Drawing Book, creator unnamed, ca. 1888. The book is bound in light green paperboard; the front cover is illustrated with an engraved image of an open drawing books with drawing and writing instruments nearby. The title is above the drawing book. The back cover is blank. The drawing book is 20 unnumbered leaves in length, and contains 7 ink and watercolor maps and 3 leaves of pencil sketches of flowers. The maps are on the first 9 pages of the book, and the flower sketch are on the last 3 leaves of the book. The flower sketches are all dated [18]88. The maps are views of: the southeastern United States; the New England States; Palestine; the Mid-Atlantic States; the Caribbean; Australia, and an unlabeled map of Italy. Tissue paper guard sheets are bound in between each of the leaves.
