Images are virtually all commercial photographs by John Watt Beattie taken in 1906, of native peoples and sites around the Solomon Islands and Vanautu.

The number "56" is affixed to the top of spine with glue. Images are primarily commercial souvenir photographs and postcards probably purchased during the London's stay in the Gilbert Islands. A few panoramic landscapes and other views are possibly taken by Jack London.

Images are panoramas and snapshots taken by Jack London during a three week tour of France, Germany, Italy, and Holland taken after completing his research for The People of the Abyss in London. Second half of album contains additional photos taken while in London, a several that are variations that did not appear in The People of the Abyss.
