    Image of the monument to the 2nd Rhode Island Volunteers. Monument is topped by a bronze sculpture of a war drum against which are leaning an ammunition bag, a canteen, a wreath and a bayonet. On top of the drum is am infantryman's cap with the cross badge of the Union's Sixth Army Corps. On the front of the monument it reads: 2nd R.I. / Volunteers / Second Brigade/ Third Division / Sixth Corps. In the center of the monument is a carved bas-relief of the shield of the State of Rhode Island. Below the bas-relief is written: 3rd Michigan Inftry 3rd Brig. 1st Div. 3rd Corps. / Mustered in / at / Grand Rapids / Mich. / June 10th 1861. / Army Potomac / First Bull Run / to / Appomattox. Behind the monument to the let can be seen large coils of rope and a pry bar. At bottom of the photograph, above the signature on the car is printed: 1063 -- 3rd Michigan Inft. Monument. .     Image of the monument to the 125th New York Infantry. Monument is topped by the shamrock of the U.S. Army, 2nd Corps. On the face of the monument is carved: 125th New York Infantry, / 3d Brig. 3d Div. 2d Corps. / Recruited in Rensselaer Co. N. Y. / Mustered in at Troy, N. Y. Aug. 27th 1862. / Engaged in 23 battles. / Mustered out at Albany, N.Y. June 5th 1865. Below this above the base is the seal for the State of New York. In the lower left corner of the image, in small neat handwriting, in white, are the numbers: 1074.
