Image of an obelisk monument draped in an American flag, the name Lincoln surrounded by laurel wreath just below the flag. Printed below the wreath is: Born Feby. 12 1809. / Ours the Cross / His the Crown / Assassinated April 14 1865. One the left of the obelisk is a man in civilian dress, on the right a soldier, hands in prayer while leaning on a musket. At the base of the monument, Columbia stands in a red and blue dress with her hand over her face while weeping, broken shackles hanging on either side.

Variant of the first death bed print published by Currier & Ives. Depicts "little Tad" Lincoln weeping at his mother's knee beside the President's bedside. Tad was never present at the deathbed. This revised version includes Vice President Andrew Johnson at the bedside in place of Gen. Henry W. Halleck. See also pri675 (26)
