Scrapbook of nine items related to the nationwide funeral and mourning ceremonies for President Abraham Lincoln between April and May 1865. Items include special train schedules (including one printed on silk), a railroad pass; a governmental pass to view and/or accompany the presidential remains; a mourning badge with an original tintype photograph of President Lincoln; and a letter from General Edward D. Townsend, officer in charge of escorting the remains from Washington, DC to Springfield, Ill., written to his wife "Nannie" on April 28 1865, recounting his emotions and experiences. The original compiler of the scrapbook is unknown. It has been attributed to E. D. Townsend, but the materials used to make the scrapbook (binding, type-written labels, etc.) date from the mid-20th century.

A black silk keepsake from President Abraham Lincoln's funeral procession in Chicago, Illinois. The "Order of procession" is printed in gray, and lists the pall bearers, guard of honor, and general procession, and indicates the place in line where the funeral car is. Text at the bottom describes the path of the procession, notes road closures, and lists the preparations for the body's lying in state. There is a beige trim around the edge of the silk, with scalloped ribbon and loose fringe.

This series contains letters, telegrams, and orders relating to Lincoln, especially to his assassination, and the pursuit and trials of the assassination conspirators. In addition, there are several commemorative poems and resolutions, and other items that concern Lincoln's legacy, including a certified copy of the Emancipation Proclamation with a black seal and mourning ribbon. Also present are two letters of John Wilkes Booth, neither of which mention Lincoln.

Handmade photo album containing eight (8) black-and-white photographs of Edwin Hubble's black cat, Nicolas Copernicus, dated 1947. Photographs by Alfred Parish and Maxine Parish. The album is composed of front and back decorated covers, two title pages, and six (6) pages of photographs of the cat, Nicolas. The insides of the front and back covers also contain photographs of the cat, for a total of eight (8) photos. These photos were taken at the Hubble's residence in San Marino, California in 1947. The album appears to be a gift to the Hubbles from the photographers, Alfred and Maxine Parish. Description of front cover: The front cover is decorated with a Christmas theme: gold-stamped bells, ribbon and angels against a white background (possibly wrapping paper) with "Merry Christmas" added in red with black outlines, and hand-drawn holly leaves in green. The album is bound with a red cellophane ribbon and tied into a bow through two holes along the spine. Description of inside front cover: Blurry, cut-out black and white photo, a head- and- shoulders portrait of Nicolas the cat. The photo is mounted on gray paper, which is then mounted on the green cover. Blue hand-watercolored border. Title page 1: Hand-lettered "The life and times of" against a green and blue hand-watercolored background, on off-white paper.
