Description: A full-length studio portrait of James Otis Moore (1822-1886), who served as assistant surgeon to the 22nd Colored Infantry Regiment, turned slightly to the left. He has a full mustache and beard which reaches past his lapels. Moore is resting his right hand on the back of a heavy wooden chair with ornate upholstery, which has a curtain draped over it on the left. "L. Horning's Photographic Rooms, No. 56 N. Eighth Street, Philadelphia. ; No. ; Negatives retained. Duplicates furnished at any time." is printed in black on the verso. There is a blue two cent stamp with a portrait of George Washington attached to the verso upside down.

Milliken has a full mustache and goatee that extends as far as his lapels. "Powelson ; photographer ; 58 State St. ; Rochester ; N.Y." is printed in blue on the verso.

A full-length studio portrait of Union Major Peter Schlick of the 22nd Colored Infantry Regiment, turned slightly to the left. Schlick has a thin mustache and a goatee growing from only the bottom of his chin that reaches his lapels. Schlick is resting his left forearm on the back of a wooden chair with floral patterned cushions. "Finley & Sons ; Photographers ; Main Street, Canandaigua, N.Y." is stamped in black on the verso. There is a green, three cent stamp with a portrait of George Washington on the verso.

A bust-length studio portrait of Union Major Edmund DeBuck (or De Buck) turned partially to the left. DeBuck has a full but neatly trimmed beard and mustache, and is almost completely bald on top of his head, with hair around the sides. "J. Cremer & Co., artists, No. 18 South Eighth Street, Philadelphia." is stamped in black on the verso. There is a green three cent stamp with a portrait of George Washington attached to the verso.

Christy of the 22nd Colored Infantry Regiment, with his head turned slightly to the left, and his body turned very slightly to the right. Christy has a very full mustache and beard that reaches below his collar. Farwell has a small, neatly-trimmed mustache, and is resting his right hand on the back of a wooden chair with a fancy back and upholstered seat cushion. "Nichols & Warren, Photographers, No. 46 South Main Street, Fall River, Mass. ; Copies of the same at any time." is stamped in black on the verso.

Evans, No. 14 Main Street, Norfolk, Va." is stamped in black on the verso. There is a green three cent stamp with a portrait of George Washington attached to the verso upside down.
