  Microfilm of a diary, biography, and autobiography of Barry Wride. The microfilm opens with a diary Wride kept while presiding over the Cardiff Conference from 1860-1861, and traces his missionary activities in Wales. It is followed by a brief biography of Wride by his son George Thomas Wride (1874-1952). The remainder of the reel consists of an autobiography and diary of Wride written in Mexico in 1901. It covers his childhood and education, conversion to Mormonism, experiences as a missionary in Wales (portions appear to have been copied directly from his earlier diary), traveling to the United States, and life in Utah from 1861-1903. Also includes some genealogy. The microfilm reel also contains a prayer card from Wride's funeral and a photograph of him with one of his wives.

  Autobiography and diary of William McIntosh [microform]: c.1857-1889

  Microfilm of the autobiography and diary of William McIntosh. The early part of the volume focuses on McIntosh's early years in the United States and his emigration to Utah. Many of the entries focus on his involvement in preparations for the Utah War from 1857-1858. He also describes the presence of soldiers in Rush Valley and seeing Indians in army uniforms while traveling around Pond Town (now Salem, Utah) in 1858. The early diary entries end in 1866, and the latter part of the volume resumes with entries from 1884-1898. McIntosh includes anecdotes about his family, his life in Mt. Pleasant and surrounding areas, his work on ditches and other forms of irrigation, water rights in southern Utah, and being advised by a bishop not to vote against Utah statehood. Toward the end of the volume is the transcribed text of "A Fatal Accident at St. Johns," which recalls the death of John McIntosh (probably William McIntosh's son) after he was crushed by wagon wheels in 1889.

  Diaries and autobiography of William Wallace Flanigan [microform]: 1875-1925

  Microfilm of a total of thirteen diary and autobiographical volumes kept by William Wallace Flanigan from 1875-1925. The reel opens with a three volume autobiography and diary, which was begun at Kane County, Utah, in 1875 and covers Flanigan's life in Utah through 1903. The diary volumes, which are not in chronological order on the reel, are dated 1899, 1901, 1903, 1905, 1906, 1917, 1921, 1923, and 1925. They chronicle Flanigan's daily life in Utah, including at Rockville, Washington, Springville, Provo, and St. George. He writes frequently about his daily activities and labors, agricultural work, attendance of meetings, the weather, and his work at a school house. The reel also contains some loose pages with autobiographical writings to about 1895.

  Microfilm of a diary kept by W.J. Sutherland during his mission to the Southern States from 1898-1900. The diary primarily focuses on his time in Florida and Georgia, and recalls traveling by rail, attending conferences, and visiting various Mormons. Portions of the diary appear to be in pencil and may be partially illegible.

  Diaries of John B. Fairbanks [microform] : 1877-1902

  Microfilm of nine diaries kept by John Fairbanks from 1877-1902. The first diary opens in Payson in 1877, and recounts Fairbanks's mission to the southern states, including Alabama and Tennessee, in 1883; the second opens with a list of subscriptions for the Zion's Cooperative Mercantile and Manufacturing Institution in Payson (1869) and also includes an 1881-1882 diary kept at Payson and on the southern states mission; the third diary opens in 1881 when Payson was traveling to St. Louis and tracks his mission through 1882; the fourth diary is a continuation of the third diary; the fifth diary is another notebook and diary kept during his mission from 1882-1883; the sixth diary is also from 1882; the seventh diary is undated but also appears to be from the southern states mission; the eighth diary is dated 1890 and was apparently kept in Utah; and the ninth diary was kept while Fairbanks was traveling in Central and South America, including to Mexico, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Colombia, in 1901-1902. It closes with a brief biography by an unknown author tracing Fairbanks's artistic endeavors from 1914-1917. Also included on the reel is a typescript by an unknown author entitled "South America Trip," which recalls Fairbanks's travels there.

  Diaries of Oz Flake [microform] : 1893-1899

  Microfilm of the diaries of Oz Flake, kept from 1893-1899. The first volume is identified as Record of the Life of O.D. Flake, Snowflake, Book A, and is dated 1893. It opens with a brief autobiography of Flake's life through about 1893, and then transitions into diary entries beginning in about 1894. The diary covers Flake's life in Arizona and an 1896 trip to California. The second volume is identified as Record C and records Flake's 1897-1898 mission to the southern states, particularly Mississippi. The second reel contains a diary dated 1898, which covers the southern states mission in Mississippi as well as stops in Tennessee, New Orleans, and St. Louis. The final volume is identified as Record E and covers Flake's mission in Mississippi from 1898-1899.
