Description
This is a first edition of Furber's "calendar of flowers", issued as a lavish catalogue of seeds available from his nursery in Kensington. There is a hand-colored plate for each month, in which are arranged the flowers that will bloom in that month. Each flower is numbered against a key at the bottom of the plate. The first plate is a list of subscribers decorated by a border of flowers. --cf. Dealer's description

    One painting book, ca. 1935, entitled Flowers, A Paint Book, illustrated by Pru Herric, published by Whitman Publishing Company, Racine, Wisconsin. This book is composed of 32 unnumbered pages of outline drawings of flowers. The front cover illustration is of flowers within a white trellis pattern. The back cover is the same pattern, but with different flowers. Each of the pages for coloring features a single type of flower that is identified by its common name; color suggestions are below the name of the flower. Some of the images have been colored in with chalk.

    First series of a botanical work on flowers in India. The work opens with a chromolithographed prefatory poem titled "Help us!", followed by 11 chromolithographed plates faced by an accompanying leaf of chromolithographed verses. The leaves of verses contain poetic excerpts from Dicken's Household Words, The Language of Flowers, Shakespeare, and the Botanical Magazine, and give details of the habit and habitats of some of the illustrated flowers.
