Description
No old shelf mark. Apparently drawn after the Civil War to show the location of various field hospitals during that conflict. Probably the same J. Letterman as Jonathan Letterman, known today as the "Father of Battlefield Medicine." His three tiered system of battlefield evacuation for injured soldiers is still used today.
