    No old shelf mark. Map is untitled. Accompanying note suggests this map was made after 1898 but before 1907, but the layout of the counties suggest a date between 1895 and 1899. In Washington State, Stevens and Okanagon Counties split into Ferry (absent) and Chelan (absent) in 1899; in Oregon, Lincoln County (present) was formed from Benton and Park Counties in 1893, and Wheeler (absent) was formed from Grant in 1899; in Idaho, Logan (absent) and Alturas (absent) were eliminated and Lincoln (present) and Blaine (present) were formed in 1895. Prime meridian: GM. Relief: hachures. Projection: Cylindrical. Printing Process: Lithography.

    Map of Mt. Olympus National Monument and surroundings. Partial map

    No old shelf mark. Title supplied by cataloger. Mount Olympus National Monument was created in 1909, and Olympic National Park was formed in 1938; Chehalis County (absent) was renamed Grays Harbor (present) in 1915. Probably from the early 1930's through association. Wrapped around a tube from the U.S. Dept of Interior, Geological Survey, addressed to Col. Lawrence Martin, Chief, Division of Maps, Library of Congress, Washington, D.C. and postmarked December 11, 1934. Col. Martin visited the Huntington at about that time and made a number of recommendations regarding the map collection. MS notes: Red lines and notes regarding shelters. Prime meridian: GM. Map must predate 1907 because Imperial County is absent; the only year the Trans-continental Freight Co. is listed at 620 1/2 Market in San Francisco directories is 1905. Prime meridian: GM.
