Map of Northern California
Visual Materials
No old shelf mark. The untitled upper portion of a map of California showing the area from Woosland south to Oakland. No bridges. The presence of the San Joaquin & Sierra Nevada Railroad indicates that the map is from after 1882 (Fickewirth, page 131), and this seems to predate 1888, when a number of lines (e.g. S.J. & S.V. and Vaca Valley & Clear Lake) were consolidated with Northern Railroad (Fickewirth, page 91). MS note on Bouldin's Island, "Asparagus beds 250 cars produce 1899." Prime meridian: Mount Diablo (also base line). Relief: shaded. Graphic Scale: Miles. Projection: Cylindrical. Printing Process: Lithography. References: California Railroads, Alvin A. Fickewirth, 1992, RB TF24 C3 F53 1992. Verso Text: MS notes: S24 D.C.O.R. 50.00.
