Description: Untitled photocopy enlargement. No old shelf mark. Road and railroad crossing the area of Goler. The first claim in Goler (Jackass Placer) was made in 1893 (Desert bonanaza, Marcia Rittenhouse Wynn, 1963, pages 60-61; Charles A. Koehn, whose name appears on the map, was in the area from the beginning, and after a very colorful career died in 1938 (Desert Fever, Gary Shumway et al., 1980, page 124; accessed at http://www.scribd.com/doc/3427371/Desert-Fever-a-200-year-history-of-mining-in-the-California-Desert-17811981 on March 26th, 2010).
