Untitled map. No old shelf mark. MS note: "This 1894 U.S. Geological Survey map was the first contour one made of this area. Mountain topography by my great-uncle L.C. Fletcher." MS note: "Donald McLain 1904." D. McLain. Don McLain worked with the Clason Co. of Los Angeles and produced several of their maps. This lends credence to his hand written note and dating. In addition he hand inscribed the watershed he felt led to the area called Savannah (now Rosemead) where L. D. Rose kept horses, and also signed and dated his name in 1904, lower right. San Gabriel Timberland Reserve was established in 1892 and renamed Angeles National Forest in 1908. Prime meridian: GM. Relief: contour lines. Projection: Polyconic. Printing Process: Lithography. Verso Text: District Serial Number 1101-5107 State Application No. 50180. Exhibit A.
