A second reissue of the Kitchin-Jefferys-Sayer and Jefferys plate. Few alterations from 18225 issued earlier the same year. Lake Ontario drops the alternate designation as Cadarakui, Falls of Ohio deleted. Issued in later editions of "American Military Pocket Atlas" as map No. 4. This issue is identical to 18221 except that the imprint lower right has been changed from 1775 to "Publish'd as the Act directs, 15 June 1775." This issue found in the "American Atlas" of Sayer and Bennett of 1775. Note Sayer & Jefferys appear on the map, Sayer & Bennett on the Atlas. The Kitchin map resurfaces after 18 years. Evans and Pownall are gone from the map surface. A dotted line indicates the boundary with Canada. The submap is renamed, new "State of Vermont" is added, as is "Kentucky", but north of the Ohio River. "Province of Quebec" remains, still into US territory. Kashnor notes, "This is an unrecorded issue of Lewis Evans' famous map. According to Stevens in his monograph on Lewis Evans, this is the eighteenth issue, but in this the words Province of Quebec still extend from below the Wabash, whereas in the issues noted by him the words "Province of" have been deleted." "viz. Virginia, Maryland, the Delaware-Counties, Pennsylvania, New Jersey &c. with the Addition of New York, & of the Greatest Part of New England &c. as also of the Bordering Parts of the British Possessions in Canada." This is a copy of the Kitchin map of 1756 with Kitchin's name altered to that of Jefferys, hence a plagairism of a plagairism of Evans map. Jefferys has added several new forts and has changed Kitchin's "F. du Quesne" to "Ft. du Quesne, Destroy'd in 1758 now called Pittsburg."
