Description: This hand-drawn map is of the Battle around Alexandria in 1801. It has been trimmed, loosing some information on the right side. The city walls are Alexandria are shown upper right with Pompey's Pillar located. It appears to show Napoleon's retreat from the city in April 1801 (?). Note position of map name and defense information is reversed on Jeffery's maps, but details are identical. Kashnor dates as [1760]. "under the Command of Vice-Adml. Saunders & Major Genl.
