    Kashnor notes,"Shows a good map of the Far West, according to knowledge at the time particularly of New Mexico. California is still an island and there is a river which is in the locality of the Columbia." Map includes famous fish drying vignette, and is known as the "Cod Fish" map. McLaughlin dates as 1719.     Kashnor notes, "A very quaint and interesting old map. In the vacant spaces on the continent are coloured figures of buffaloes, wild horses, bears, rabbits, &c. , whilst the ocean is adorned with three-masted ships, whales and walruses. California in named "Insula California," with the following note; 'California a prioribus geographis semper habita fuit quaedam pars continentis, et capta per Hollandos ab Hispanis tabula quaedam geographica compertum est insulam eße et continere ubi latissima est 500 leucas. A Cap. Mendocino verousque ad C.S. Lucae repertum est testibus tabula praedicta et Francisco Gaulo extendi in longitudinem 1700 leucarum.'
