Consists of two series of 20 leaves, one lettered a-v and the second .a.-.v.. Leaves printed on one side only. Printed in brown ink. Huntington Library copy is an early impression of Schreiber edition VI, as the newly recut plates p-q, .c.-.d., .l.-.m. and .t.-.v. do not show the damage to the woodblocks seen in other copies of edition VI. Imperfect: ten leaves lacking (leaves a-b, g-m and .n.-.o.). Many leaves faded. Huntington Library copy misbound when rebound for Pembroke; now in following order: leaves c-f, .p.-.t., v, .v., .a.-.m., n-t. Leaf v detached and kept in a separate folder. Blank leaves pasted together; most leaves faded. Binding: 19th century English gilt-tooled red morocco, in red morocco solander case.

Text printed in 2 columns; 66 lines, plus headline. With ornamental woodcut initials and printed paragraph marks; without catchwords. Printer's device below register on leaf U8r. Foliation error: leaves 11 and 158 misnumbered as 1 and 131. Signatures: A-U⁸. Binding: contemporary beech boards with modern leather spine. Remnants of two clasps. In box.

Includes fourteen full page woodcut illustrations. Chancery folio, with paper measuring 26.6 x 19 cm. Text in one column, measuring approximately 20.5 x 12.9. Woodcut initials. Signatures: pi² a⁸ b-z⁶ A-E⁶ (E6 blank). Imperfect: leaves a1 and B1 lacking and replaced with facsimiles. Binding: contemporary German half blindstamped calfskin and beech boards.

Huntington Library copy is version IVC with a two-lined frame without hatching and two additional leaves at end: Christ as Intermediator and The Fall. Binding: 18th/19th century German paper over paper boards. In 19th century English gilt-tooled brown morocco portfolio by Riviere & Son.

First pair of printed pages consists of preface; subsequent pairs consist of woodcut illustrations faced with page of text. Imperfect: leaves [20]-[24] lacking. "On the recto of the last leaf is the register; and a device wherein (as well as in many other portions of the work) the name of Blastus occurs in the Greek character."--British Library. Printed in red and black. Signatures (in Greek characters): A-L⁸ M¹⁰ N⁸ X⁶ (A1 blank). Initial and border of each new section of text have additional red, green and gold ink flourishes. Woodcut image of Galen in center of top border on leaf A2r hand-colored. Binding: Greek-style bookbinding, probably sewn in the genuine way, i.e. with thread only (unsupported structure); spine is smooth and has a round shape, and is covered with overall textile lining outside of boards. The endbands are in the Greek style, extending onto the boards and sewn into them. Beech boards, with grooves running over corners, with full size reddish brown tanned goatskin cover, tooled in blind all over (frames) with small tools and fillets. Spine tooled in blind with fillets.
