Page 1 contains a small illustration of the news letter's heading which depicts a steamer, a train, and a man riding what appears to be a camel. There is a larger illustration at the bottom of p.1 which depicts several top-hatted men reading about the news of the Frazer River gold mines. The text on the page contains various pieces of California news. "Charles F. Robbins, Printer, cor. Clay and battery sts., San Francisco. Published Semi-Monthly, by Hutchings & Rosenfield, 146 Montgomery St., San Francisco."--text, below image. Page 4 contains two images. The upper image depicts people boarding a side-wheeler and loading it with goods. The side-wheeler appears to be very full. The lower image depicts men doing chores around a log cabin. "A. N."--text, within lower left corner of upper image. Paper color: blue.
