Patton, on the left, is wearing tan pants, a belt with a circular metal buckle, a dark jacket with numerous decorations, and a beige shirt and tie. There are three stars on his shoulders and collar. His body is turned very slightly to the right, with his head turned partially to the right, towards Graves. Graves, on the right, is wearing dark pants and a tan jacket, and is holding a helmet under his left arm.

The Patton Family Collection consists of 156 glass plate negatives, 218 film negatives, 875 photographs, and a negative book, 1885-1945 (bulk 1895-1907), created and/or collected by members of the Patton family and friends. Also included are photographs of Lake Vineyard II taken in 1971. The collection provides an intimate look into the private lives of one of Southern California's prominent families around the turn of the twentieth century. In addition to the images created by Ann Wilson, the collection includes photographs created by Joseph Harrison Lamson, Frank G. Schumacher, George Steckel, and James D. Westervelt.

George Smith Patton, Jr. and his sister Anne Wilson Smith stand on a porch with vines growing up the columns on the right. George, also called Georgie, is wearing a military academy uniform, probably from the Virginia Military Institute, with a waist-length swallowtail gray jacket with three rows of buttons, gray pants, and a dark kepi. Annie, or Anita, is wearing a full length overcoat and cape, and a shako with a strap under the chin and a very small plume on top.
