The mother is seated, wearing a wide skirted dress with dark lines of trim on the sleeves and skirt, with lace decorations at the cuffs and the collar, and with a cameo brooch at the center of the collar. She wears a necklace of red beads and has her hair styled in finger curls. Mrs. Huntington was the second wife of Archer Huntington, Arabella Yarrington Huntington's son (born prior to her marriage to Collis Huntington). MS note on verso of plate mounting reads "Anna Hyatt Huntington."
