  A panoramic view of a carnival in Watts, Los Angeles, run by the S.B.C. Show Company. A carousel, or merry-go-round, and a booth with with pots and pans are in the center, surrounded by booths offering games, and large posters advertising sideshow acts like "Delphine the half lady".   Snow carnival, Lake Arrowhead. 1933

  Visual Materials

  A view down a ski jump for the snow carnival at Lake Arrowhead. Spectators line the right side of the run, though the crowd thins farther down the path. There are tall trees covered with snow on either side of the run.

  A panoramic view of Los Angeles from the Graphic Arts Building located at 417 East Pico. The view faces mostly north, with the San Gabriel Mountains barely visible in the background. The church with two spires on the far left is St. Joseph's Church, a Gothic structure at the corner of 12th and Los Angeles that burned down in 1983. Most of the buildings in the foreground are two-level houses, apartments, and businesses.   Football game, Stanford University and University of Southern California, Los Angeles Coliseum, Los Angeles. October 17, 1925

  Visual Materials

  A slightly elevated panoramic view of a football game at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum between Stanford University and the University of Southern California. The image was taken from the southwest corner of the stadium, facing northeast, and shows mostly filled seats, with a few sparsely populated sections at the far end. There is a block of people wearing white on each side of the field. The game is in progress, with the teams facing each other, not lined up to play, around the near 25 yard line. There is a slightly raised platform on the far right where several men are sitting and standing around a mounted camera. Writing in white in the bottom center reads "Stanford - 13 vs U.S.C. - 9 ; Nov. 17, 1925." Writing in white in the bottom left corner reads "No 686 ; C.C. Pierce & Co ; 1572 W. Pico, LA.."
