    Correspondence between James Bassett and Otis Chandler. One of the items of correspondence is a thank you card in response to Bassett's sympathy after Norman Chandler died. Also included are letters sent to Mrs. Bassett, after her husband's death and letters regarding James Bassett and the planning for Los Angeles Times centennial and a possible book on the subject.

    Fifteen items of correspondence regarding varies speaking engagements declined by Otis Chandler in 1977. For one of the invitations, the original invitation was sent in 1977, but some of the final correspondence was sent out in 1978. Also, one of the invitations has clippings as an attachment.
