Description: Approx. 10 items: LAT clips follow the career and political activism of Asa Call, insurance company executive, one-time president of Automobile Club of Southern California and powerful businessman, from the 1940s into the 1970s. Among these items are transcripts of taped interviews with Mr. Call: 21-pp., 3/22/1973 ; 12-pp., 4/2/1973.

Hamilton, Peggy

Correspondence and clips related to Peggy Hamilton. Also a duplicate of an interview with James Bassett, 23-pp. stapled, in which Hamilton describes working many years with Los Angeles Times ("I was not an employee") starting in 1921. She is described at top of page one as "Miss Peggy Hamilton, former fashion editor of the Los Angeles Times," taped 8/29/1973. 23-pp. transcript of 1973 interview with Peggy Hamilton ; clipping, Herald-Examiner, 10/24/1975, article about Peggy Hamilton ; clipping, LAT, 7/3/1933, photo essay, "Air races provide thrills and speed..." includes one photo which includes Peggy Hamilton ; several small pieces of paper related to Bassett-Hamilton interview - two small lined sheets are handwritten from Patt Morrison (LAT writer) to "Craig," likely Craig St. Clair, early archivist at the History Center.
