The letter is attached along with a a two page photocopy of an article.

"(Split into two folders.) Two copies of a speech entitled "Why A Newspaper in an Electronic Era" given by Otis Chandler at the Lovejoy Convocation on November 10, 1966. The copies vary a bit. Also included in this folder is a book entitled "Elijah Parish Lovejoy: A Remembrance"; a letter from Dwight E. Sargent, Harvard University Nieman Foundation for Journalism, informing Otis Chandler that he is sending him extra copies of the issue of Nieman Reports in which his speech was reprinted; a two page reprint of the speech from an unknown source; a three page reprint of the speech from the Nieman Report; two newspaper clippings regarding the event; a note from Morris Gelman, Broadcasting, sending a clipping from their periodical; a brochure-like note from Jim Mill, Western Manager of Advertising Age, sending clippings of the event to Otis Chandler; a letter and clippings from Steward V. Strider, President of Colby College, regarding informing Otis Chandler of his award and the rescheduling of the original date; a poster of the event; a page from a journal with a write up and a photograph of the event; two pieces of correspondence between John Golenor Gavin of Constructora Palo Alto, S.A., and Otis Chandler complimenting Chandler and the paper since he took over and Chandler thanking him for his compliments; a copy of The Times Mirror Company Progress; and two pieces of correspondence between Otis Chandler and John Jewett Garland, congratulating each other on honors awarded to them around the same time.
