Photo scrapbook of three-day event, "Nominating a President: The Process and The Press," prepared for William F. Thomas, Editor (in Chief) of LAT. Event sponsored by the Los Angeles Times and The Institute of Politics/Harvard, 2/1980. Scrapbook contains photos (many with captions identifying people) of the roundtable discussions held at the Institute of Politics of Harvard University, 2/1 = 2/3/1980. Multiple photos of Otis Chandler, William F. Thomas and Jack Nelson (DC bureau chief). Also in photos - Tom Johnson and Gov. Michael Dukakis (MA). Placard from "all us guys" facetiously commending Bill Thomas for lowering the Editorial Department's expense budget, signed by Vance Stickell, Bert Tiffany, and others.

    Weegar, Ted Scrapbook

    Edward "Ted' Weegar (1921-1986) was a long-time editor at the Times, establishing the Opinion section in 1960 and being the founding editor of the Orange County Edition. This scrapbook is his and contains clippings and inserts he compiled on the case between the Times and the Los Angeles County Superior Court, which won the Times the Pulitzer Prize from 1939-1942.
