Notable names and subjects include: the discussion is wide-ranging ; significant segments have not been transcribed, especially on pp. 1 - 5 ;. parts of discussion (around pp. 6 - 7+ 10 - 11) are on Oliver Sippel and involve homosexuality and gay rights ; Lobdell provides examples of material that should be included or deleted in stories for Los Angeles Times ; defining "legitimate public interest" (pp. 20 - 21) ; Wilbur Mills adventure with stripper Fanne Foxe (pp. 22 - 24) ; Lobdell states that "if there is any connection between (a politician's job performance) and their private habits," it should be reported on (pp. 26) ; more examples, more explanations.

    2 items: two transcript of an interview with Robert Lobdell, General Counsel and Vice President of Los Angeles Times. The yellow sheets contain a clean, final draft without editing marks, the tan copy has spelling corrections, corrected punctuation, etc. Notable names and subjects are: (page numbers correspond with the yellow copy which runs 59 pages.) Lobdell discusses the growth of law relating to press issues and the increase in litigation (pp. 1 - 2) ; William (Bill) Niese, also of Los Angeles Times Legal Dept., joins the interview in progress (pp.5+) ; they relate a case in which girls in tiny swimsuits ended up in pictures in a West magazine story on the Colorado River party scene sued for compensation claiming they were used as models (pp. 8 - 12) ; extended discussion between the three men on libel, privacy, shield laws, citizens' rights to government materials.
