Also included in this folder is a list of entrants listed by entry categories; a newspaper clipping about the event; and eight thank you letters from attendees/winners with one including a response from Otis Chandler.

Cal. Journalism), "One of the world's great {good} newspapers"; 6-pp. report (several versions), "Basic Times Editorial Page Policies," 1964 - edited by Nick Williams; summary of 1962 series growing out of California's achieving No. 1 ranking in population among the 50 states--stories were written on religion, real estate, government, social welfare, labor, transportation, agriculture, sports, etc.; 2 cps. of 1961 booklet containing two essays, "A Statement of Principle," by Norman Chandler, and "An Octogenarian and Still More Growth Ahead"; various LAT articles dealing with press freedom, etc.; multi-page info. packet headed "Jan. 1991 - re: Persian Gulf War"; "OC's (Otis Chandler) comments - Oct. 12, 1961," specifying "Those against us..." and "Things in our favor..."; 8/9/1982, "On Editorial Policy," by Tom Johnson; LAT tear sheet, 8/2/1976, "The ups and downs of a bail bondsman," by Al Martinez, which has had all the quoted profanity/obscenity underlined (but w/o comment); articles, LAT and others, on newspaper editorial policy; columns by Nick B. Williams, 9/26/1971, "They don't horsewhip editors, do they?" (plus other columns) and James Bassett (no date), "The battle of the analysts"; LAT article on staffer jailed briefly for refusal to answer a question in court, (1987); tear sheet from The Review, 12/1972, "It can happen here; ask Bill Farr"; duplicate material.
