Subjects include: KNBC-tv sports commentator Stu Nahan criticizes LAT sports coverage; KFWB-radio's Gary Franklin interviews Police Chief Ed Davis, who is critical of a report LAT ran on the LAPD; KHJ-tv interviewer with Robert Gottlieb and Irene Wolt, authors of Thinking Big, a book critical of LAT; KHJ-tv interview with Walter Ownbey, Commander of the L.A. 3 items. Transcript from KMPC-radio, 3/26, in which on-air reporter (Fred?) Hessler is critical of LAT staffers Dwight Chapin and Jeff Prugh. Bill Walton and UCLA coach John Wooden are also mentioned. Transcript (4/17) of interview from KABC-tv in which Ralph Story talks to Milt Kahn, who is critical LAT and Herald-Examiner sports coverage. Transcript from KCOP-tv news (12/27) which reads, in part, "Former County Administrator Baldo M. Kristovitch sued the Los Angeles Times for $2 million libel damages today, over a 1972 letter to the editor." Otis Chandler and Melvin Waters (letter writer) are also mentioned. A photocopy of the original letter is attached.

4 items. Three transcripts dated in March 1961, are from KCOP-TV broadcasts by Cal Tinney and Tom Duggan. Tinney praised LAT series on the John Birch Society, Duggan was critical of the same series. One more KCOP-TV transcript of June 1961, has Duggan again criticizing LAT on the subject of the United Nations.

Several transcripts on various subjects: the firing of Joyce Haber (Charles Champlin is mentioned) reported on KNBC-tv; a gay protest at LAT building, reported by KFWB-radio (multi-page stack, dated 10/22-- Reverend Robert Serico/Sirocco interviewed several times; 2 copies of KNBC-tv interview (12/26) of Jean Sharley Taylor, new Associate Editor of LAT; transcript of KFI "Talk Radio" from 8/1 of "caller" criticizing Dorothy Chandler and the County Supervisors--"she got the supervisors to award her $100,000 of taxpayers' money to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion."
