Description: 8 items: LAT clips, from 1938, when Clifford Clinton, businessman, grand jury member and all-around activist, was a key player in the recall of Mayor Frank Shaw, and other issues. Included is an excerpt (pp. 299-307) from The American Mercury (mag), 3/1941, headed "A new boss takes Los Angeles," with a summary as follows - "The cafeteria king-maker who captured the city now seems headed for trouble."

Also in the folder is an article copy from Frontier (mag), 4/1951, "Lobbyist for the aged," pp. 5-9. LAT was critical of McLain. A 1954 editorial was headed "Pension grab is with us again."
