    "A copy of a speech entitled "The Los Angeles Times and the Newspaper Industry" given by Otis Chandler at the Times Mirror Company Executive Conference on Wednesday, May 11, 1966. Other items in this folder include are a memo from Otis Chandler to Nick Williams regarding the conference; two list of attendees to the Annual Meeting and the Executive Conference, one is two pages, includes titles and has handwritten notes on the backside; an itinerary for the Executive Conference for May 11, 1966; a four page memo from Paul Bertness to Mrs. Norman Chandler regarding his comments on the Annual Meeting and the Executive Conference; an itinerary for both days of the conference; a newspaper clipping from the Wall Street Journal about the meeting; half a sheet of paper regarding the details about transportation to the meeting; and two page yellow pad pages with hand written notes, also attached to these pages is a piece of paper also with handwritten notes on it. "

LAT news stories - headlines and dates include: "Actress defends migrants before Congressional hearing," 9/25/1940 ; Mrs. Douglas' view on Reds challenged," 8/30/1950 ; "Nixon gave her pink tint, Mrs. Douglas says," 9/21/1956 ; "Old Nixon foe (Douglas) still works against him," 10/19/1970. Also in the file is the original of a 10/25/1950 letter from Henry Rich of David S. Hillman Advertising, who had Douglas as a client, to the Advertising Dept. of LAT, indicating his appreciation for the "wonderful cooperation...in placing advertising, in spite of the fact that, editorially, LAT opposed her election.
