Three copies of a speech entitled "The View From A Publisher's Window" given by Otis Chandler at the University of Maryland Distinguished Lecture Series on April 17, 1969. One of the copies appears to be from book in which the speech appears in Chapter Four. Also in this folder are two event programs; a three-hole punched page with hand written notes; a letter from Ed Reap to Dick Robinson [Richard R. Robinson] which discusses the proof of the speech from the University of Maryland; the proof of the speech from the University of Maryland; four items which included two letters to Otis Chandler inviting him to be speaker, a response letter from Freddie Miller, and a telegram confirming the receipt of Freddie Miler's letter and acceptance to be speaker; four items of correspondence with Richard W. Lee, Chairman of the Distinguished Lecture Series at the University of Maryland, in which he confirms time and dates with Otis Chandler, a response letter from Freddie Miller informing Mr. Lee of other things Chandler has scheduled that day, a letter from Richard R. Robinson to Richard W. Lee regarding the proofs, and a letter thanking and informing Otis Chandler how the series went; three items of correspondence between Dr. Ray E. Hiebert, Professor and Head of the Department of Journalism at the University of Maryland, in which he thanks Chandler for accepting the offer to be speaker, sends him photographs of the event, and Otis Chandlers responds with a thank you letter.
