    This ledger contains 724 pages of cases heard by Los Angeles City Justice H. C. Austin from February 15 to June 15, 1887. The majority of the cases are misdemeanors, petty crime, assault and battery, burglary, disturbing the peace, and drunk and disorderly conduct. The entries include name of the defendant and attorney and the details of the case. Sometimes the entries give the results of the case, such as a fine being paid, etc.
