Tsar Nicholas II telegram to L. M. Bogue

A telegram from Russian Tsar Nicholas II to the Honorable L.M. (Luman Moody?) Bogue of Colorado informing him that the Tsar had released Anna Strunsky Walling and her husband, William English Walling, and asking if Bogue knew the Wallings. The telegram is dated October 24, no year is given.

Statement regarding payment for passing the Mortgage Tax Bill

This statement, which is signed "B & W," apparently a law firm, describes a series of events related to the passing of the Mortgage Tax Bill in Sacramento. David Colton, noted as "the agent of the Banks," wished to retain B & W to avoid paying back taxes while the Bill was pending in the state Senate. Once the Bill was struck down in the Assembly, Colton requested the firm's help once again. There is no indication of what party the statement is intended for.
