    Assortment of indentures, contracts, and expense reports relating to the development of Yuba County, California. Includes indentures and contracts for land sales, driving a mule train, the operation of toll bridges (including the Bullards Bar Bridge and one on the North Yuba River), public highway right of way, mining claims (including the Connor and Daily mine in the Cherokee Mining District), and an account of provisions provided to the Yuba County Hospital. Other items include a list of tax payers in Yuba Road District No.6, a report of criminal activity in New York Township, a variety of expense reports and claims submitted to Yuba County, a resolution on water rates in Yuba County, a letter regarding building a wall near the Marysville Courthouse, an expense claim for the 1889 Mechanic's Fair Exhibit in San Francisco, a letter regarding the Marysville Tunnel and Quartz Mining Company, and a letter and map regarding redistricting in the Buckeye County School District.

    The Eugene Swarzwald Pictorial California and the Pacific Collection consists of 9,674 black and white photographs, negatives, a photograph album, magazine mock-ups, letters, and ephemera, dated 1909-ca. 1968. Eugene Swarzwald and the Swarzwald family collected the material for use in the magazine "Pictorial California and the Pacific." Images depict California and the West with some coverage of the rest of the United States and international destinations. The collection contains photographs depicting general city views of communities in California, scenic views of wilderness areas, images of parks, schools and universities, museums, and points of historic interest (including California mining towns and missions). The collection is strong in subjects related to leisure and social and recreational activities. Many of the photographs are by the Keystone Photo Service.     This report was written by engineer Samuel Storrow "at the request of the Spring Valley Water Company in order to make a record of certain studies of The Additional Water Supply Available for Greater San Francisco." It looks at two main possible supplies of water: the Yuba River and the San Joaquin River. The report includes a table of contents, tables, and black and white photographs.
