Regarding the "Morey letter," a letter purportedly written by Garfield to supposed union representative Henry Lee Morey claiming to be in favor of Chinese immigration. The letter was publicized during the 1880 presidential election campaign; Garfield denied being the author. Item is mounted on a ledger page with newspaper clippings about Hawley on the reverse, November 1880.

W. H. Webber Chinese exclusion notebook

This directory, compiled and used by immigration inspector W. H. Webber, is comprised of pasted-in clippings from San Francisco's Chinatown directories published by Horn Hong & Co., as well as handwritten lists by Webber, of residents living in Chinatown. The entries are dated by year and arranged by street name, though the entries are not in true chronological order. The earliest entries are dated 1883, the first year of enforcement of the Chinese Exclusion Act, and the last entries are dated 1916.

Two pieces of ephemera relating to Boston University's Sargent Camp; the first is entitled Application for Admission to the Boston University Summer Session in Physical Education at Sargent Camp, Peterborough, N.H.; the other is entitled Room Reservation Form. The application form is dated 1948. Neither form has been completed. Accompanying the two forms is an envelope addressed, in typescript, to "Miss Gladys B. Tarr, 89 Prospect St., Sar15 Gloucester, Mass." The items were laid into a catalog entitled Summer Session in Physical Education at Sargent Camp, (HEH RB# 603429).
