The three volumes are arranged chronologically and alphabetically by author. There are three volumes in this series are family related and include the very rare volume of Looe and Eliza Baker's letters compiled by Kate Stuart Lowry using the letters and other material in this collection. The three volumes are somewhat fragile, with damaged spines.

Report No. 35 is a study of the employment and effectiveness of the medical support of air warfare in the south and southwest Pacific (1941, Dec. 7 - 1945, Aug. 15). It is comprised of four volumes (approximately 1,300 pages). Only 7 copies of the report were prepared - this may be the only surviving copy. It is copy No. 7. The volumes are in fragile condition; covers and spines coming loose.

An extensively annotated extra-illustrated work in two volumes: a chemist's working copy of a significant treatise on the development of chemical procedures of dyeing textiles. Volume 1 contains 544 pages with 39 textile samples; volume 2 contains 646 pages with one folded engraving, illustrations, and 34 textile samples. Both volumes contain annotations on separate sheets, with some intertextual annotations as well. In addition, there are twelve cloth samples of indigo dyeing, with detailed manuscript notes on the samples, which are unique to this copy of the work by Schützenberger. The volumes are bound with contemporary calf spines, marbled paper boards; there is some foxing and slight staining on a small number of pages.

The 53 notebooks in this collection include notes, charts, calculations, measurements, drawings, and other observations recorded by Los Angeles city engineer, Frank Henry Olmsted, and other surveyors affiliated with the civil engineering firm Olmsted and Gillelen. The surveys include sewers, reservoirs, ditches, dams, and other water supply and sanitation structures that were located primarily in Los Angeles County; Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Ventura counties are also represented, as well as various regions in northern California and Arizona. The notebooks provide details relating to the design and construction of municipal water systems, and data concerning water distribution and consumption levels throughout southern California and Arizona during the early twentieth century. The notebooks are arranged in alphabetical order; titles are taken from the spines and front covers of the notebooks; many of the notebooks are undated. The majority of notebooks are in fragile condition and several contain loose items laid into the notebooks.
