    A manuscript in English, with slight staining. Original note of transfer states: "Removed from duplicate discarded ; i.e. former acc. no. 97062, Bridgewater 43/F20." The discarded book (RB 97062) was William Camden's Tomus alter et idem, or, The historie of the life and reigne of that famous princess, Elizabeth, printed in London in 1629; it was discarded on January 4, 1941.

    Manuscripts

    The Prologue and Epilogue are two separate manuscripts, in different hands, still attached after removal from volume. A Prologue begins: "Tis not five yeares since this was a Sweete Place..." (2 p.); the Epilogue begins: "Our theatre alas is quite undone..." (2 p.). The manuscripts were removed from Bridgewater pamphlet volume 2/G 16 (HEH 133562-90) which was broken up for the removal of duplicates.

    Five scraps of manuscript notes, written by Diana Korzenik, that had been laid into Arthur Dow's Composition: A Series of Exercises Selected from a New System of Art Education, 1899, (HEH RB# 603472). Accompanying these five notes is a photocopy of page 13 from Dow's Composition.

    Appareil à Gaz: manuscript, letter, diagram, and note

    One five-page manuscript entitled Appareil à Gaz describing an illuminating gas plant, plus one diagram of the gas works and a letter (two pages), written by Lankez? to Monsieur Banuel? from Metz, France, and dated 1819. The manuscript includes emendations and marginalia, and the diagram covers both pages of a 30 x 43 cm folded sheet that contains calculations and a brief annotation on verso. Also includes one sealed note with text, "appareil pour la production du gaz à éclairage, No. 11."

    The collection consists of 8 manuscript poems and sonnets by Eliza Fall and 45 letters (one is incomplete) from Fall to William Henry Harrison (1795?-1878) concerning her efforts to have a volume of poetry published. Fall's letters discuss her poetry, her nom de plume "Mary Maynard" and her reasons for keeping her identity secret, and John Ruskin (1819-1900) and his work.
