    Manuscripts

Two manuscript volumes attributed to Reverend John Warly; included are biblical passages, sermon notes, and commentaries on spiritual matters and political subjects including the English Civil War. Entries are in secretary hand, primarily in English with a small amount of Greek. The volumes are signed by Lee Warly, a descendant of John Warly; both volumes are written in two directions with the text beginning at one cover then turned over and beginning again (tête-bêche style).
