    Sadd family deeds

    Manuscripts

    The five deeds relate to land owned by Thomas Sadd, Jr., in Windsor, Connecticut (1746-1763). Many of these deeds still have their seals. The three receipts deal with the Sadd family in Hartford, Connecticut (1850-1851).

    Horace F. (Horace Francis) Page letters to C.C. Williams

    Manuscripts

    Series of letters written from Horace F. Page to C.C. Williams between January 1881 and July 1882 in response to the latter's seeking of a presidential appointment for a consulship. Page writes repeatedly to Williams that he is doing all he can to secure Williams such a position, and urges him to come to Washington or continue to wait patiently for a position to become available. Page also offers Williams a place in the pension office, which Williams declined.

    Jerome H. Markham letters to Walter Markham

    Manuscripts

    Most of the letters are written by Jerome H. Markham of Buena Vista, Colorado, to his brother Walter Markham of Middletown, Connecticut. The letters address topics of concern to settlers such as health, land, livestock, and hunting. The most frequent subject is the need for money. Two of the letters are written by "Ronnie" and one by E. Webber (?). Many are written on letterhead from Colorado establishments such as hardware states and hotels.
