This is a manuscript album or Stamp Book "wherein Kings, Princes, the Great Turk & many noblemen and learned men in favour of [Francis Segar] have subscribed their Names, with devices & mottos, & etc..., with 58 emblazoned and engraved coats of arms." This album was in the Segar family for most of the 18th century, during which time Segar's great-grand nephew, Simon Segar, tore out several signature pages and all of its illustrations; Simon Segar did add a note of explanation about the missing pages in the beginning of the album.

Mary Parker, Countess of Macclesfield, botanical album, 1756-1767

A botanical album created by Mary Parker, Countess of Macclesfield; she started the album in 1756 when she was 30 years of age. Flower painting had become a fashionable occupation for the wives and daughters of the great houses of England and Mary Parker achieved exceptional ability under the tutelage of Georg Ehret. The album contains 48 watercolor and gouache paintings on parchment; depicted are both sides of the plant's leaves and also shown are more than one reproductive stage for each specimen: with the early formation of the blossom, the growing petals, and the full expression of the flower. The images in the album depict numerous plant specimens, sometimes with butterflies and other insects, most likely local to the Macclesfield estate, Shirburn Castle, in Oxfordshire. Many of the illustrations are identified by names predating Carl Linnaeus' binomial plant nomenclature in his "Species Plantarum" (1753), while other notations on the illustrations include Linnaeus' names. The album is bound in a contemporary, richly gilt morocco wallet binding, with interior green silk ties; the binding is likely by Richard Montagu. The pages in the album are marked with the Macclesfield armorial blind stamp. It has a lock and key fastening, and while the original key is present, the lock has been deactivated by a professional restorer, please do not attempt to use the key; also present is a red velvet bookmark.

This autograph album contains autographs, caricatures, cartoons, musical scores, pencil drawings, pen and ink drawings, poems, and watercolors; a few of the autographs are in Japanese. It appears, from the varying page sizes, this album is made up of several different albums collected over many decades, possibly by multiple members of the Sterrett family; also, each section contains overlapping spans of dates. For conservation purposes the pages have been removed from the damaged leather cover and placed into envelopes.

This collection consists of an autograph album containing handwritten notes, letters, poems, and drawings by approximately 200 friends and acquaintances of American author Charles Warren Stoddard, including leading American literary figures, journalists, poets, critics, politicians, and actors of the late 19th century. Among the many notable contributors are Samuel Clemens, Bret Harte, and Joaquin Miller. The earliest item in the book is an 1863 dedication by Thomas Starr King, and continues with contributions primarily from members of San Francisco literary society beginning in the mid-to-late 1860s through the late 1890s, as well as from friends in other locales where Stoddard lived or traveled including Louisville, Kentucky; Washington, D.C.; Massachusetts; New York; and Hawaii. A letter from L.C. Bayles (page 23) introduces lines of verse with the note "in accordance with your request," reflecting Stoddard's curation of the album as a compendium of verse and personal sentiments tailored towards friendships and literary musings. The volume includes two photographs of groups of men and women, captioned, "Riverdale, N.Y., July 4th 1890" (page 116). Joseph W. Revere album

The album, probably written about 1870, is a collection of memories and stories from Revere's life. The majority of the album focuses on two points in Revere's life, his time in California before and during the gold rush, and his experience in the Civil War. The album specifically covers the following subjects: Revere's experiences on the USS Constitution in 1834; Revere's life as a rancho owner in Mexican California before the gold rush; the California Indians; Revere's travels throughout California and Mexico; his time in the Mexican army; his voyage to California through Panama in 1848; Revere's experiences in the gold mines; and Revere's service in the Civil War including his experience in Second Bull Run, Fredericksburg, and Chancellorsville. The album also includes eighteen illustrations, watercolors and sketches, done by Revere to illustrate the text. These sketches include California landscapes, and scenes of life in San Francisco, Panama, and the gold mining camps. There are also a few sketches of scenes from Revere's experience in the Civil War. The last few pages of the album are draft pages for the beginning of Revere's book, Keel and saddle.
