Description: This is one leaf from a prayer book written in Armenian that was probably created in the 15th century (exact date and location of creation are unknown). The original manuscript (which the Huntington does not have) was written on 184 vellum leaves. The text is in black with decorations in red; the opening of the prayer is decorated with an elaborate design in red. There is a note about the original manuscript with the leaf. It was LACMA RB 178 Ar5 1400?

One illuminated calligraphy leaf from the Qur'an, in Arabic with red interlineations translating the text into Persian (Farsi), with an autograph date of circa 1790 in pencil. One illuminated leaf of a Persian poem: "Poem on Beauty and Love," in Arabic, with gold decoration, dated 1265 A. H. [1847].

This is a single-page, two-sided manuscript that is leaf 24 from the First Book of Baptisms, which documented baptisms performed at the Mission of San Gabriel (Calif.) during the 18th century. It contains several entries, dated from March to May, 1776, and also contains signatures of Fathers Miguel Sanchez, Antonio Cruzado, and Francisco Garcés. In Spanish.
