    Armenian prayer book leaf

    This is one leaf from a prayer book written in Armenian that was probably created in the 15th century (exact date and location of creation are unknown). The original manuscript (which the Huntington does not have) was written on 184 vellum leaves. The text is in black with decorations in red; the opening of the prayer is decorated with an elaborate design in red. There is a note about the original manuscript with the leaf. It was LACMA RB 178 Ar5 1400?
