Medicine and health on stamps

Collection of 20 loose pages (intended for a 3-ring binder) with mounted stamps and covers, with medicine and health related images and themes. Each page has a typescript descriptive note/key. Each printed mounting sheet reads "Medicine and health on stamps" with images of a nurse and doctors. Collection includes both international and American stamps. Also includes a stamp album of the Chicago Heart Association, "the history of medicine", accompanied by an envelope of loose stamps.

Rare Books
One sheet of paper with perpendicular chain-lines and water-mark "IV" in the center which has one penny stamp on upper left-hand corner. The stamp has "One Penny sheet" enclosed in a circle surmounted by a crown and the letter "J" to the left of the crown, and the letter "T" outside and below the circle. To the right of the stamp is an embossed stamp reading "America ... II shillings, VI pence". Also includes a stamp embossed on blue paper, cut from an old parchment document, to which it is pasted. The three stamps are examples of those issued by the British Parliament in order to levy taxes on the Colonies in America under the Stamp Act of 1765.

Term paper for an anthropology class at the University of California, Berkeley. In it, Stewart compares references to the material culture of early inhabitants of North America in the Book of Mormon and several scientific publications, focusing on what he deems to be anachronistic references to agriculture, cattle and horses, and the wheel in the Book of Mormon. Stewart concludes that the Book of Mormon is "a story book...[and] not true as a history."

Commemorative first day cover for Jack London stamp

This is a commemorative first day cover for the "first day of issue" of the Jack London stamp. It is postmarked "Glen Ellen Jan 11 1986." There is an image of Jack London on the envelope, an image of a ship, and on the bottom right is an image of a wolf with an Earl Labor quote "No other modern writer has so successfully captivated the imaginations of readers of all ages among all peoples." Below the image of London it states "Jack London Author - Adventurer 1876-1916," and to the right of his image is a quote by Russ Kingman "Jack London belongs forever to those who know him for the great, true artist he was." The Jack London stamp is on the top right.
