Typed history of Cache County, Utah, compiled by M.R. Hovey between 1923 and 1925. Topics covered include the discovery of Cache Valley and the trapping period, Jim Bridger's involvement in 1824, the Hudson Bay Fur Company's visit of 1833, the visit of Captain Charles Fremont in 1843, its exploration by Captain Howard Stansbury in 1849, the ranching period, the colonization period and Maughan's Fort, the organization of Cache County in 1857, the Utah War, resettlements in the late 1850s, the early settlement of Logan in 1859 (including irrigation, industry, government, etc.), newspapers in Cache County, the development of transportation and pubic utilities, and the histories of schools, mail services, livestock, freighting, and logging. Also included are histories of the early settlements of Mendon (1859), Richmond (1859), Smithfield (1859), Hyrum (1860), Paradise (1860), Millville (1860), Hyde Park (1860), Clarkston (1864, including testimony by Martin Harris), Newton (1869), Lewiston (1870), Benson (1871), Trenton (1872), College Ward (1879), Franklin, Idaho (1860), Weston, Idaho (1865), and Preston, Idaho (1877).

The collection contains letters, documents, including 190,000 reports, 1200 maps, 500 photographs, and 8200 pieces of printed material related to the life and career of Ralph Arnold. Subjects represented in the collection include: mining, petroleum, and seismology in the Western United States as well as Canada, Mexico, Cuba, and South America; political papers from 1914 to 1956, mostly concerning the campaign of Herbert Hoover for president; family and personal papers from 1836 to 1961 of Arnold and his father, Delos Arnold, containing source material on Pasadena and Southern California local history. The collection also contains Arnold's field books, including those made at Stanford University with the U.S. Geological Survey from 1900 to 1909.

Reminiscences by Bishop Tuttle of his mission days in Utah, Idaho and Montana

This typescript of Tuttle's reminiscences is the not the same as the text he had published in 1906. This account, which is much shorter in length, focuses upon Tuttle's stagecoach journey west to Salt Lake City, including a stop in Denver, and his experience traveling in the West while he was Bishop of Montana, Idaho, and Utah. He talks about specific stagecoach drivers and employees of Wells, Fargo & Company, and tells stories about stagecoach robberies and accidents. This account also includes Tuttle's meeting with Brigham Young shortly after he arrived in Salt Lake City in 1867

This collection contains personal papers, business records, correspondence, photographs, prints, and ephemera that relate to Los Angeles theatre impresario, Lynden E. Behymer. The materials date from approximately 1850 to 1998, with the bulk of the collection ranging from the 1910s to 1940s. A small portion of the collection consists of biographical information about Behymer and his family. The Personal and biographical materials series contains albums, scrapbooks, clippings, and correspondence relating to Behymer's birthdays, tributes, and other celebratory events. Of note in the collection are the Business records and Correspondence series. The materials primarily relate to Behymer's involvement in managing musicians, actors, actresses, dancers, singers, theatres, and organizations in the music and entertainment industry in California and abroad. Included are approximately 2,400 pieces of correspondence with organizations such as the California Grand Opera Company, the Chicago Grand Opera Company, the Los Angeles Repertory Theatre, the Merola Opera Company, and the San Francisco Opera Association. Formats consist of account books, ledgers, receipt books, agreements, contracts, correspondence, and notes by Behymer. A significant portion of the collection consists of programs, which are organized by theatre programs, movie theatre programs, and souvenir programs. Theatre programs are one of the largest series in the collection, and consist of theatres based in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, as well as other states and international countries. Many of these theatres (Grand Opera House, Los Angeles Theatre, Burbank Theatre, Philharmonic Auditorium, Chicago Opera House, etc.) are also represented in the Press clippings and Theatre scrapbooks series. Souvenir programs are incorporated into the Music, dance, and drama series as they primarily pertain to performers and musicians such as: Anna Pavlova, Ballets Russes, Ruth St. Denis, La Argentina (Antonia Mercé y Luque), Trudi Schoop, Sarah Bernhardt, Helena Modjeska, Mei Lan-Fang, Ignace Jan Paderewski, and many others. Additional materials in the Music, dance, and drama series include librettos, prompt books, plays, poetry, sheet music, and correspondence with various music organizations and clubs. The collection also contains approximately 3,000 photographs of performers and performances. The photographs range from signed portrait photographs, to play and set designs, musicians on stage, and some press photographs of the Behymer family at events and premieres. A small number of prints, drawings, and ephemera are also found in the collection. They include Behymer's personalized book plates and stationery, travel tickets, memorabilia, invitations, celebrity signatures, business cards, travel guides, postcard albums, greeting cards, drawings, prints by Alfred Frueh and Max Reinhardt, and costume designs.

This typescript was collected and copied by Austin E. and Alta Fife from a typescript loaned to the Utah Humanities Research Foundation by Charles Martin Harris of Logan, Utah, on June 19, 1946. It covers the Harris family history, including their emigration to the United States, their activities in early America, Martin Harris' involvement with Joseph Smith (1805-1844) and the Mormon Church, and Emer Harris' reading of the first published copy of the Book of Mormon and his subsequent conversion.

The collection consists of correspondence, essays, bibliographical notes, bound volumes, and ephemera either pertaining to or collected by Joseph C. Loughran. The majority of the items relate to Utah history from the 1860s to the 1940s and focus on Weber County, particularly the Ogden area. Items of note include genealogy records for the Fuller, Jacobs-Huntington, Hansen, and Young families; extensive bibliographical records related to Mormon history; a book of poetry and essays by Reba B. Pratt (1880); a book of annotated newspaper clippings by Mormon dissenter Lamoni Call; shopkeeper's day books and account books kept in Ogden from the 1860s-1880s and which feature entries for Lorin Farr, Edwin Smout, George Lake, Seth M. Blair, R.D. Sprague, H.B. Scovill, and others; a wage and account book for Ogden gravedigger Joseph Compton (1880-1883); a record of temple work in Ogden (c.1921-1922); record books of the Primary Association of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 11th Ward, Logan Stake, Utah (1931-1934); and a record book from the Ancient Order of United Workmen, Hall Fidelity Lodge No.3 of Ogden (1894-1900).
