Traité d'arithmétique, de géométrie, de géographie et d'astronomie

    Manuscripts

Written in Montauban, France. The elaborately done title page contains a written note beneath the title which tells the reader that this is a course of study for her that is useful and enjoyable. Ms. Bonnefon introduces her manuscript with a dedication epistle to her father, a point found at the end of the dedication with her signature. The essay starts with a discussion on the sphere/globe and geography of all countries (including Canada and Labrador). There is particular emphasis on Europe and Asia, noting capitals of the individual countries. She also lists main canals, rivers, provinces, and capitals in detail for France. Next sessions are on arithmetic, sphere, astronomy and geography. There is a "Table de matiere ..." after the geogrpahy section for the entire essay. Numerous drawings and diagrams throughout. The last 2 pages of the manuscript contain a song.
