- This manuscript is one of a group of 35 letters and manuscripts written, mainly, by 19th century British actors and actresses; a small number were written by American, French, and Italian performers. The material was collected by Augustin Daly (1838-1899), an American playwright and producer, and bound in a volume entitled, Bills of the play, New York, 1892. The 35 items have been cataloged separately (HM 63331-63365) and a complete list of the material is available from the Manuscripts Dept.
