    The collection consists of 1 scrapbook, 1 framed photograph, and 1 service record book from the Marine Service Bureau. The binding on the scrapbook is loose with some materials detached from the pages. The scrapbook contains photographs concerning Fitzpatrick's service in Cuba, Panama, and Nicaragua, as well as friends and family. Also included are several types of correspondence, marriage nuptials, and other ephemera. To note is a Tropical Radio-United Press piece titled "Cressy's History of California" (based on a tourist pamphlet by Will M. Cressy) as well as photographs of the 1931 Managua, Nicaragua earthquake. The framed photograph features Fitzpatrick on the deck of the ship Talamanca, along with other crewmembers. The service record book contains descriptive information about Fitzpatrick and his time as a seaman. Enclosed within the book are 90 Certificates of Discharge dating between 1927 and 1936, and a December 1945 letter from Fitzpatrick's cousin Honora discussing the latest news out of Ireland. Also included is a Seaman's Protection Certificate as well and other ephemera.The materials concern individuals or places associated with Fitzpatrick and his career. Among the primary subjects represented in the collection are Fitzpatrick's service in Cuba, Panama, and Nicaragua. The collection also includes information regarding Fitzpatrick's time as a student at Drury College, club memberships, and his family.

    Manitoba school question collection

    This collection deals with the legal case resulting from the Manitoba School Case, 1894; Sir Charles Fitzpatrick carried the appeal to the Privy Council. The case centered on whether or not each Canadian province should maintain the cost of separate Catholic schools. The collection includes Fitzpatrick's personal correspondence, printed reports, memorandum, copies of legislative bills, and pamphlets (HM 82894 (2-11)); there is also a separate large volume of clippings, bills, House of Commons Debates, etc. (1536 pages, HM 82894 (1)).

    This collection contains the papers of Gloria Molina, who was a Los Angeles County Supervisor of the First Supervisorial District from 1991 to 2014. This collection is mainly comprised of records created and accumulated during her years on the Board of Supervisors. These materials -- including correspondence, agenda, motions, reports, press clippings, notes, ephemera, site plans, photographs, audiovisual and electronic resources -- document a wide range of activities performed by Molina and her staff, such as project planning, legislation, lawsuits, redistricting, campaigning, and budget planning.

    The materials of the collection are arranged chronologically. There are ten pieces of correspondence, six of which relate to particular voyages and four are letters from John M. Cavalry to his daughter. The Scrapbook Pages are also filled with correspondence relating to Pacific Mail Steamship Company. The other scrapbooks contain clippings from newspapers regarding voyages, ships, and amusing anecdotes. The Bound Scrapbook used to be a ship's log and there are pages that are not covered in newspaper clippings. The photographs include one photograph of the John M. Cavarly, a photograph of the steamer "City of New York," and a photograph of her officers, including Captain Cavarly. The manuscript, Annie's captain, is a work of fiction about the lives of John M. Cavarly, his wife and their family based upon some of the materials in this collection and those held in the Kathryn Hulme Collection in Yale University Library. Subjects in the collection include: the CSA Florida; John Newland Maffitt; United States mail steamers; Pacific Mail Steamship Company; sailing anecdotes; ship captains and their spouses; steamboats and steamboat disasters; Steamboat lines to China; Steamboat lines of the Pacific Ocean; and United States Civil War naval operations.
