"Alameda, Mariposa"--on verso, in ms., in pencil, of all four prints. Measurements are for the largest blueline print. Unknown as to when these copies were made. Focus of item: Mariposa (1883-1911) ; Alameda (1883-1910).

    Administrative records of Barlow Medical Library

    Manuscripts

    These three volumes of the Barlow Medical Library Association chronicle the first sixteen years of its operation. The volumes include minutes from 1907 to 1932, correspondence pertaining to the function of the library, lists of members, lists of donations, holding records for various years, by-laws and the Association's constitution. The volumes also include six loose items. In volume 1 they include: an obituary for a librarian, minutes for a1920 meeting, and minutes for a 1921 meeting. In volume 2 they include: a form letter from 1914, an undated notice, and a list of articles on fractures from 1912. In volume 3 they include: a pamphlet from the Barlow Medical Library and a note regarding the history of the Association.

    Polytechnic School Gym Dedication

    A copy of the speech given by Otis Chandler at the Polytechnic School Gym Dedication on October 11, 1968. Also in this folder is a thank you letter from David K. Robinson, President of the Board of Trustees at Polytechnic School; a two page memo to Dan Moore from Jan Rouse, Director of Development at Polytechnic School, which provides further information about the gym for Otis Chandler's speech; a thank you letter from Janet Rouse; four items of correspondence, between James N. Gamble, Vice President of the Board of Trustees at Polytechnic School, and Otis Chandler, which discuss the invitation to speak, Otis Chandler's acceptance, planning details and thank yous; a page detailing Vietnam war costs; handwritten notes about the audience on a ruled sheet of paper; and the program of the event.

    Volumes 1-4: Los Angeles County Medical Association

    The collection contains forty-one (41) volumes of minute books of the Los Angeles County Medical Association (LACMA) from 1871 to 1970. The collection consists of three series: 1. four initial minute books from meetings of the association from its beginning in 1871 to 1905; 2. twenty-eight volumes of minutes from LACMA's Board of Councilors from 1905 to 1970; and 3. nine volumes of the minutes of LACMA's Board of Trustees from 1920 to 1966. The volumes are labeled Volume 1-41; each series is arranged in chronological order. Several prominent California physicians held chief positions with LACMA including Walter Jarvis Barlow, Lewis T. Bullock, George Dock, William R. Molony, and Joseph Pomeroy Widney. Most of the volumes are typewritten but some are handwritten.
