Print honors the recently deceased George Washington. On the right side of the print is an obelisk with an small oval portrait of George Washington (based on Gilbert Stuart's "Vaughn" portrait). Beneath the portrait is the text: "G. Washington. / There is / rest in / Heaven." To the left of the obelisk, a man and a woman weep. Behind them is a woman, symbolizing Hope, with an anchor propped against her and her index finger raised to the sky. The image is enclosed within a double circular border.
