In the lower right hand corner is a case/sheet number, "1464-42149." "Peru"--on verso, in ms., in pencil. "Don"--on verso, in ms., in red pencil. Unknown as to when the copy was made. The Peru operated for Pacific Mail between 1892 and 1919; built for PMSSCO by Union Iron Works in 1891-92; she was the second Pacific Mail vessel to carry this name. Focus of item: Peru (1892-1919).
