In the House of Representatives, September 17th, 1776. : Resolved, that it be recommended to the male inhabitants of each town in this state, being free and twenty-one years of age or upwards, that they assemble as soon as they can in town-meeting ... and that in such meeting, they consider and determine whether they will give their consent that the present House of Representatives ... together with the Council ... should consult, agree on, and enact such a constitution and form of government for this state

    Manuscripts

    Series 1: Business and legal files. The first series consists of business and legal files of William Jack Chow. The files are arranged in alphabetical order by subject. These files concern both Chow's career as a lawyer and a businessman. The folders may contain a combination of business records, case files, correspondence, financial records, legal documents, memoranda, and securities. Chow also frequently traveled to Hong Kong for work. Those files are also found in this series and they span from the 1950s through 1970s. A subject of interest includes the Supreme Court of the United States landmark decision to uphold affirmative action in Regents of the University of California v. Bakke. At the end of this series are Chow's books primarily related to business and law. Note: Chow's appointment books and business cards are found in Series 2.

    Senate Bill No. 26. An Act providing for the government of the cities and towns of this State

    Manuscripts

    Collection consists mainly of correspondence from the period 1910-14, beginning when Oddie initiated his campaign for governor and ending when he was about to terminate his administration. The correspondence is arranged in 19 boxes in alphabetical order by author. There are also 6 boxes and 4 rolls of Nevada State papers, almost entirely copies of legislative bills for the year 1873, and a small number of documents from other years. Subjects include: mining, politics, and government in Nevada (including divorce laws), women's rights, the financial panic of 1907, the Progressive party, and the Panama-Pacific International Exposition of 1915.

    Extra-illustrated copy. Contains some eighty engraved portraits, plus ephemera, and autographs. Prints and portraits: Includes engraved portraits of Lafayette, George III, George Washington, George I, Louis XV, the Duke of Gloucester, Silas Deane, and others. A reproduction of Trumbull's Declaration of Independence, (engraved by Illhan & Pillbrow), a depiction of the Old State House Philadelphia, a stipple engraving of the Washington Grays by C.G. Childs (Philadelphia : R. H. Hobson, 1823) after Gideon Fairman. Ephemera items include: An invitation to the Lafayette Ball in Philadelphia issued to Miss Nixon, commemorative satin ribbons: "The Nation's Guest La Fayette"; "Lafayette" (engraved and sold by J. Yaeger, first door below the Post Office), and "Tiller's La Fayette Badge. Liberty, Equality and Public Order" (copyright secured by Act of Congress Sept. 3, 1824). Includes several manuscripts. Some of the more significant manuscripts are listed in the partial contents note.
